Norfolk
Community
We believe that proactive engagement throughout development, construction and operation of our wind farms makes better projects, and makes us better neighbours to the communities living and working near to our wind farms and their infrastructure. The Norfolk Zone team has been working closely with communities in Norfolk for several years and this positive engagement has shaped and influenced the plans we put in place for communication throughout the construction phase of the project.
You can read more about how we work with communities in Informed & Involved Communities →.
Community Fund
The Norfolk Offshore Wind Zone Community Fund will support communities across rural Norfolk to help create places where people want to live and thrive, now and in the future. The total planned Community Fund investment for the Norfolk Zone projects is £15 million over the 25 year lifetime of the projects.

Year In Industry
Since 2018, the Norfolk Zone projects have been supporting annual Year In Industry (YII) interns. YII is a work placement year, sandwiched between second and third year of a university degree course. It provides students with the opportunity to apply their academic knowledge in a professional work setting and boosts development of new skills. Several of the students that have spent a placement year with us are now working full time in the renewables and wind energy industry, and some even now work as a full time member of the Norfolk Zone project team.
The 2024 Year in Industry students working on the Norfolk Zone projects are Nkosinathi Mwanza and Holly Walker.
